City of Athens, Illinois

City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Objective:
Design 10 MGD well field
Location:
Mississippi River flood plain
Test Holes:
13 test holes with split spoon samples on 5-foot centers
Piezometers:
2-inch PVC installed in each test hold
Test Pumping Well:
18 inch PVC test pumping well
Pump Test:
7-day pump test at 2100 gpm
Conclusion:
Construct 1800 gpm wells to meet 10 MGP supply, wells must have 500 foot spacing to minimize interference

City of Keytesville, Missouri
Objective:
Develop new 100,000 GPD capacity well field
Test Holes:
Four test holes were constructed to locate the area for the test pumping wells. Four additional test holes with 2-inch piezometers were constructed at the test well location split spoon sampling was performed on 5 foot intervals.
Test Pumping Well:
  6-inch PVC test pumping well
Pump Test:
Two pump tests were performed. The initial 24-hgour test showed boundaries and a second 7-day test was required.
Conclusion:
Construct two 100 gpm wells at the site to meet demand

City of Athens, Illinois
Objective:
Expand existing well field on the West side of the Sangamon River to provide an additional 300 gpm supply
Test Holes:
11 test holes with split spoon samples on 5-foot intervals
Piezometers:   2-inch PVC piezometer installed in 4 test holes
Test Pumping Well:
  6-inch PVC test pumping well
Pump Test:
24-hour pump test at 193 gpm
Conclusion:
Construct 300 gpm well at the site
